Evian x US Open
Putting the US Open in the middle of New York Harbor.
Brand Evian
Brief Evian, official water of the US Open for over thirty-five years, wanted a moment during the tournament that the whole city would see.
Role Took an idea I was handed and made it real enough to approve. The mockup showed a ferry in the distance with a pink tennis court on its roof and players mid-rally, which is not something anyone signs off on from a description.
Execution The SS evian, a Circle Line ferry carrying New York City's first floating tennis court, left the harbor on September 10 and cruised the Hudson during the men's final with Maria Sharapova captaining. Proceeds went to the Billion Oyster Project.
Outcome Covered by Time Out New York, BizBash, Event Marketer, and Untapped Cities, all of them leading with the same thing: the city's first floating tennis court.
